After completed his MS in 1986, he worked at some of India’s finest surgical hospital like Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, New Delhi. He was one the first few general surgeons in India to train in laparoscopic surgeris in 1995. After his training Dr. Deshpande started in Navi Mumbai in the year 1995. In 2001 he decided to start a hospital which could provide world class surgical care to the people of Navi Mumbai. Hence, he started Surya Hospital in Nerul, Navi Mumbai. As Laparoscopic General Surgeon in Nerul, Navi Mumbai he has successfully completed many general surgery for piles, hernia, fissure, anal fistula, pilonidal sinus, and appendix treatments
